Course Description:
The focus of this course is to provide mental health professionals with the assessment and reporting tools they need to act quickly on situations of potential child abuse and neglect, according to their state laws and regulations. This course provides information based on current best practices for mental health professionals regarding child abuse and neglect, warning signs, evidence-based assessments and treatment interventions, and risk & protective factors for children and their caregivers. The main goal of this course is to help equip mental health professionals with a better understanding of how to recognize and assess child abuse and neglect, how to report these situations, and then intervene effectively within their clinical work.
