Course Description:
The focus of this course is to educate mental health professionals on the current research and effective clinical techniques based on evidence-based practices regarding the elderly population. In addition to gaining basic knowledge about the biological, psychological, and social changes among older adults, the course also provides mental health professionals with information on how to manage legal and ethical issues, such as countertransference and suspected abuse. The main goal of this course is to help equip mental health professionals with practical and effective clinical tools that they can use with this population.
