Course Description:
The focus of this course is to educate and/or refresh mental health professionals on the subject of law and ethics as it relates to unprofessional conduct. In addition to reviewing basic knowledge about legal and ethical issues, the course will also provide information about what unprofessional conduct is, the consequences of engaging in unprofessional conduct, and evidence-based practices on how to avoid compromising situations. The main goal of this course is to help equip mental health professionals with a better understanding of how to prevent ethically compromising situations, how to make ethical decisions and manage countertransference issues.
